Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

What is ART?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a type of psychotherapy in which I will guide you in eye movements to assist in processing and resolving traumatic memories. It is a relatively new form of therapy (2008), but it has shown promising results in research studies. It has been impactful in helping many people overcome a wide range of psychological issues, including:

Anxiety
Depression
Phobias
Panic attacks
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Addictions/substance abuse
Performance anxiety
Relationship issues
Codependency
Grief
Pain management

During ART, I will ask you to focus on a specific scene in your mind that illustrates the problem. I will then guide you through a series of eye movements followed by additional steps to assist with improving the images and body sensations that are tied to the problem. You are always present and in control, making choices that fit for you through the entire session.

There are several potential benefits to ART, including:

Quick results

ART is known for producing quick results, with many people experiencing significant improvements in their symptoms after just a few sessions.

Privacy

Some people have a barrier to healing their trauma because they do not want to share what they have experienced with others. With ART, you do not have to share the parts that disturb you most in order to see positive results.

Can be combined with other forms of therapy

ART can be used as a standalone treatment or we can use it alongside other forms of therapy, such as talk-therapy, neurofeedback, or ketamine assisted psychotherapy to enhance the overall treatment plan.

Can provide lasting improvements

Many people find that the improvements they experience with ART are long-lasting, helping them to achieve lasting changes in their lives.
